Ministry Mission:
To welcome people of all ages to learning opportunities that form Christian faith and character.
Ministry & Committee Activities/ACTS
Education Ministry Committees met 11/11.
Church-wide Education
Family Sunday School: Advent Activity, 11/30; Christmas Activity, 12/14.
Intergenerational Learning Opportunity: U.T. Astronomy Professor Don Winget presents a perspective on the natural manifestation of the Christmas star event at 6 pm in the Fellowship Hall on Wed., 12/17.
Children's Education
Sunday School: 2-year-olds - Gospel Light; 3-year-olds through 5th Grade - Experiencing God.
GIFT: 3-year-olds through 5th Grade - Lectionary-based Children's Program.
1st Grade St. Nicholas' Day Party, 12/6.
Youth Education
Sunday School: 6th Grade - Confirmation Class; 7th and 8th Grade - Experiencing God; High School - The Gospel of Mark.
GIFT: Study Hall; 7th and 8th Grade Confirmation Class; High School - NOOMA Video Discussion Group.
Confirmation Survey sent out 11/2 with a 12/1 deadline; many responses already received.
Adult Education
Sunday School: "The New Testament Community", 9/7-11/30, "Experiencing God", 11/2-23, 12/7; Balance: Living with Life's Demands, 11/2-12/14; "Human Commitment", 12/7-14, 1/4-3/1.
GIFT: Exploring the Gospel of Mark, 9/10-12/10 (except 11/26); What Kids Really Want for Christmas, 11/5-19; Given for You: Reflections on the Meaning of the Lord's Supper, 11/5-19, 12/3-10.
Weekday Bible Studies: Wednesday Morning Bible Study - The Book of Genesis, 9/24-11/19; Wednesday Morning Bible Study, 12/3-17; Brown Bag Bible Study continues.
Invited TLLC Seminarian Harold Vanicek to teach when he visits in January.
Child Development Center
ELEA Self-Study of Ministry and Relationship Team met, 10/23.
Purchased crosses for CDC classrooms and butterfly furniture for Sabrina's Hope Garden.
Parent Partners delivered baked goods to firefighters who taught Fire Safety, 10/23.
Parent Partners delivered extra Halloween candy to Mobile Loaves & Fishes, 11/12.
CDC will provide gifts for 37 children/elderly at Agua Viva in El Cenizo via Social Service Ministry.

Joint Activities Update
DCE provides support to Children's, Youth, and Church-wide Education.
DCE writes Sunday School News; gives information for Announcements and The Butterfly.
DCE leads Brown Bag Bible Study, parenting classes and an adult Sunday School class.
DCE will attend Southwestern Texas Synod Youth Ministry Network at Christ Chapel, 11/20.
DCE works with Safe Church Team and provides support to small groups.
DCE recruiting Chrismon activity leaders for children at Christmas Open House.
DCE continues "Interpreting the Old Testament" course for AIM credit.
Project Progress:
Planning Infant Ministry/Special Needs installation in Cry Room.
