Ministry Mission:
The Worship and Music Ministry Committee continued work on its main responsibilities of planning and coordinating the worship/liturgies, music/choirs, altar guild, liturgical arts, and audio/visual assistance needed at TLLC for successful service opportunities.
2008 Goals:
Involving children in worship in coordination with Youth and Education.
Hiring an assistant music director.
Providing support to the Worship Schedule Work Group and implementing any changes to the worship schedule recommended by the group and Council by September 1st.
Recruitment of volunteers for all areas of the Worship and Music Committee.
Ministry & Committee Activities/ACTS
Entire committee involved with Thanksgiving/Advent/Christmas plans.
New members Debbie Mann and Lynn Holliday met with Carol and Susan to discuss ideas for children and family in worship. Debbie and Lynn will be working on the live nativity before the 4 and 6pm services.
Several members of the committee have received complaints concerning noise in the narthex before services.
Committee discussed request from the Resurrection Garden group concerning temporary placement of loved one's ashes at church. W&M have several ideas that Janet will share with Carolyn.
The choir is sounding great with the addition of more people. New members are being recruited…especially men.

Set up an excel file which included members' names, phone numbers, and emails for the Lifetouch Supplemental Photo Directory and placed information on a cd.
Recruited volunteers and office volunteers to prepare and stuff Stewardship 2009 packets.
Recruited volunteers to prepare Ministry Fair passports for Ministry Fair.
Set up 2009 Missionary for a Day Calendar for Ministry Fair display on October 19, 2008.
Set up instructions and communion station map for worship leaders for the one worship service on October 19, 2008.
Created TLLC Email Prayer Chain display for Ministry Fair on October 19, 2008.
Created TLLC Worship Leaders display for Ministry Fair on October 19, 2008
Set up a listing of member names with their skills and talents listed for the Nominating Committee for 2009 Council director positions.
From the data base I selected names with skills and talents matching office receptionist and recruited one member to serve as an office receptionist for Thursday afternoons.
Printed new member certificates for those joining on November 2, 2008.
Set up a new member listings and script for office volunteer for reminder calls.
Created a prayer card for the New Member Luncheon on November 2, 2008.

Finalized Susan Hires' job description and performance plan for Susan and Karen with Personnel
Final meetings with Worship and Ed task force
Working with education (J.Klock) on Christmas Eve worship, promoting children's music, recruiting Children's Message presenter, maintaining Children's Welcome Cart, updating cry room
Staff Actions / Needs from Council
Need support from Youth Committee to promote new Youth Music program
Continue to work on 2009 Budget
Heavily recruiting for Advent and Christmas choirs and musical groups as well as new childrens' programs. Council support and "passing the word" much appreciated
Thanksgiving worship with St. Matthew's planned. Reception to follow in Fellowship Hall (support from Nurture)

Lots of coordination between Altar Guild, Flower Guild, Liturgical Arts for special Advent and Christmas services/decorations/events.
