Modern-Day Martin Luther Community Chest Workshop

The injustice of predatory lending in Texas entices those in and near poverty to become crippled with insurmountable debt. To identify alternative lending options to counter this injustice, the Southwest Texas Synod’s Poverty and Justice Task Force is sponsoring the 2018 Workshop on Modern-Day Martin Luther Community Chest. Our goal for this workshop is to identify ways for congregations to adopt alternative lending programs to assist persons in your communities to get through times when resources are too tight to handle by themselves. Here is more information on predatory lending.
The workshop will be held on Saturday, April 21 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 4622 South Lamar Blvd. The registration fee is $15 and includes a light lunch.
