Laura Mumme, CDC Director
Laura is a graduate of UT, go horns! She has worked on and off in the childcare field for over 20 years as an assistant director, a lead teacher, and an assistant teacher in many centers in Austin. She has been at the Child Development Center preschool for 15 years and a member of Triumphant Love since 1991. She has been married to her wonderful husband, Chuck, for about 20 years, and they have three children and one granddaughter. She loves gardening, crafts, and cooking in her free time!
Reyna Swanson, CDC Asst. Director
Reyna Swanson has been in the educational field for over 11 years. She is a certified Bilingual teacher with a degree in Psychology and has a Master in Elementary Education. She has taught in three different states and 5 different school districts. Reyna was a Dino teacher at the TLLC CDC before becoming the assistant director. She and her husband, Dave, have three girls, Isabel, Lulu, and Ava. . Her hobbies are visiting parks with her girls, running with her husband, and decorating.
Bridget Morgan, CDC Teacher Representative
Bridget Morgan is excited to begin her second year with the talented and loving staff at Triumphant Love CDC. The journey of her career in education spans 20 years and includes experience working with children ages 12 months to elementary school age in a variety of educational settings. She has a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and is currently working on her Child Development Associate, a process she plans to complete by the end of 2015. Bridget loves to read, hike, and spend lots of time outdoors with her 10-year-old daughter, Gemma, who is an avid nature lover and animal enthusiast.
Laura is a member of TLLC and has been a CDC parent since 2010. She has been a Parent Partner, Lead Parent Partner, and coordinates TLLC Sunday School. Her daughter graduated from the CDC in 2014 and her son is currently in the Star II class. Laura joined the CDC Board in 2014. Laura earned her degree in Environmental Design and a master’s degree in Landscape Architecture both from Auburn University. She is Vice President of Deep South Plastics, a company she founded with her husband in 2007. In her free time, Laura likes to snow ski, run, and enjoy time with friends and family.
Tessa Burns joined the CDC Board this past January. She has been a TLLC Member for many years and a CDC parent since 2008! Tessa and her husband, Casey, have three children who have all attended or are currently attending this wonderful pre-school: Davis (third grade), Piper (kindergarten), and Augie (Dino). Before staying home, Tessa was a first grade teacher for nine years. Tessa has a Bachelor of Science in Education from Valparaiso University and a Master in Curriculum and Instruction from Texas State. Tessa has served as a Parent Partner at the CDC and has also been the Sunday School Coordinator for Triumphant Love. She is currently the lead of the Children’s Ministry Team. Tessa also enjoys spending time with friends and family, travel, baking, and attempting to be a runner.
Norma Neal is a Child Development Specialist. She works with non-profit and corporate programs as they strive for excellence. She is the NAEYC Accreditation Specialist with Child Inc. (the local Austin/Travis County Head Start Grantee and works with DELL and IBM as a Family Work/Life Consultant. She has over 45 years of experience as a child and family advocate. She collaborates with many local and national groups on Early Childhood Health and Safety issues, and she serves in an advisory position to the American Academy of Pediatrics. She is a National Trainer for Child Care Health Consultants and TX Registered Master Trainer for Early Childhood professionals. Norma and her husband of 46 years have two adult children and 17 and 19-year-old grandsons.
Marzi Asadifar has been a TLLC CDC parent since 2013. She was a parent partner in 2013/2014 school year and became a board member 2014. Her son, Shayan, is starting Dino this year. She graduated from UT Southwestern Medical School and is currently a part-time internist and full-time Mommy!!
In her very little spare time, she enjoys music, dancing, reading, cooking, baking , and spending time with her family and friends.
Bennie Engelke joined the CDC Board in 2015. He has been a member of TLLC since 2006. Over the years, he has enjoyed volunteering to assist the pastors, in the music program, and with the Child Development Center (CDC).
Bennie has two children, Sean Engelke and Jennifer Peck, who both live in Austin. His daughter, Jennifer, and her husband, Sam, attend TLLC and have three children – Samantha, Jack, and Max. All three attended the CDC before entering elementary school.
After graduating from the University of Texas with a BBA in Accounting, Bennie worked for over 42 years with several State Agencies. He served as the financial secretary at TLLC for several years, and currently assists with TLLC financial issues. He has also recently joined the TLLC choir.
Bennie believes the early years of learning and faith foundation in a child’s life are so very important, and the experience created by the staff and families at the CDC will provide lifelong guidance in the future.
Samantha Keeney, Non-member/CDC Parent
Samantha is serving as one of our non-church member parents on the board. This is Samantha’s 4th year a parent at the CDC. She and her husband, Shannon, have 2 girls, Harper and Emerson. Samantha serves as our fundraising chair as well a member of the Strategic Planning Committee. She was born and raised in Austin and worked at the Brick Oven Restaurant for 16 years. In her spare time she enjoys entertaining and spending time with friends and family.
