Celebrate and share God's GRACE

Maura Cohen

Miss Maura moved to Austin from the DC area, but did reside once before in Texas, where she received her degree in Elementary Education from the University of Dallas. Maura began her teaching career as a second grade teacher. She then took some time off from full-time teaching to have her three beautiful babies, but did work part-time as a Gymboree Play and Learn teacher, swim instructor, and private tutor over that period. Now that her youngest is almost 3, she felt it was the perfect time to head back to the classroom and is so glad she found this wonderful community.

When she is not teaching, Miss Maura loves crafting, taking photos, spending time with her kids at the pool, and trying the delicious new recipes her professional chef husband is always whipping up. She also loves to bake and eat all things chocolate. Maura’s claim to fame is that her unique laugh once earned her the title of the East Coast Champion of the Pillsbury Doughboy Giggle-Off. She definitely believes a sense of humor is necessary to life, especially when dealing with children, and is looking forward to sharing a year of love and laughter with her new Bronto Class.
