My husband and I joined TLLC in Fall 2022. During the days of the pandemic, we had frequently worshiped via the TLLC online services. I had visited TLLC off-and-on since I’d moved to Austin in 2009, and once things opened back up after the pandemic, we visited TLLC in-person as a couple and decided to join after we were married.
I’m a life-long Lutheran from Bellville, Texas, and was very active in the church. I’ve been a Sunday School teacher, served as a lay reader, and participated heavily in our youth organization. Through my work at UT Austin, I bring experience in interacting with a diverse group of people, thinking critically, problem-solving, and seeking feedback. These experiences will be beneficial to my time on Council.
My favorite thing about TLLC is the wide variety of activities that the church offers along with the diversity of the membership. The success of the TLLC experience is evident by the number of longstanding members who continue to be actively involved in the TLLC community.
