Jan Richards
CDC Board President (TLLC Member/Non-Preschool Parent)
Jan, and her husband Gene have been members at Triumphant Love since 1986. Jan’s parents, Ted and Velma Ziehe, joined TLLC in the second New Member Class in the 70s. Both of their children were confirmed and married at TLLC, and their 4 grandchildren were also baptized at TLLC. Jan has served as an usher and Sunday School teacher, participated in Adult Education Sunday School, Wednesday Matters, Care of Creation, served on TLLC’s Church Council, participated in vision and mission creation, and currently serves as the Chair of the Board of Mariposa Family Learning Center (ministry of Austin City Lutherans). Jan is especially drawn to the welcoming spirit and focus on growing our faith which TLLC exemplifies. Jan retired after serving 35 years as a teacher, assistant principal, and principal at Laurel Mountain Elementary in RRISD. She now enjoys having time to read, travel, enjoy friends and family, and volunteer at Mariposa FLC. She says, “I look forward to serving on the CDC board and helping to support and engage the CDC families, staff, and TLLC in creating faithful, meaningful, and fun learning experiences for children in our community.
