My family and I joined Triumphant Love in 2021 following our move back to Austin and the birth of our daughter in February 2020. It was an interesting time to join a church, and to have a baby, to say the least! I was baptized and grew up in an ELCA congregation in Iowa and was active in Lutheran Campus Ministry during my time at The University of Texas at Austin, and I wanted my daughter to have a similar upbringing in a loving, grace-filled community.
My background includes servant-leadership through the ELCA’s Young Adults in Global Mission program, where I served in Mexico for one year and later served as a short-term recruiter at college campuses, and I currently serve as the Communications and Marketing Director for the City of Round Rock, where I work with our elected bodies and staff to move our strategic goals and vision for the community forward. I have served in a volunteer capacity on the statewide board for my profession for the last 10 years, as well.
My favorite aspect of Triumphant Love is its family-friendly nature. From the moment my family and I walked in, we were embraced as part of the community. This welcoming spirit, combined with the church’s commitment to nurturing faith and inspiring service in young people, makes me excited for my daughter to develop her faith in a way that inspires her to boldly love and serve others.
