Each year on Pentecost Sunday we celebrate the outpouring of God’s Holy Spirit on the church. This year a few of us witnessed a visible, tangible sign that this is still happening 2000 years later. Samuel Wyatt, grandson of Michele and Ken, was baptized. The service was held for family and a few witnesses privately between the two services for COVID precautions; yet in that moment you could feel the Holy Spirit still at work as the water fell across Samuel’s head, oil anointed him as a child of God, and a candle was lit to remind him of the light he shines. The pandemic has stopped many things this year, but its power is not strong enough to stop God’s grace!
For the special day, Samuel wore a baptismal garment that has been in the family for 55 years. His mom, Kelsey, said, “It was a special day and even Samuel seemed to be enjoying himself! He was very curious about the water on his head!”
