To celebrate the Season of Creation during the pancake breakfast last Sunday, Care of Creation Team member Terin Score helped 16 children make butterfly puddlers to take home. Butterflies need moisture but can’t land on water to drink. Instead, they sip liquid from muddy soil. This behavior is known as “puddling” and not only provides moisture but also salts and other dissolved minerals that the butterflies need. The children were enthusiastic about the thought of attracting butterflies to their own homes with the puddlers, making the activity especially meaningful and fun.
