In Those Days: Graduates’ and Pentecost Sunday

Fifty days after Easter, we celebrate the outpouring of the Holy Spirit on Pentecost. Crossing all boundaries that would separate us, the Spirit brings the wideness of God’s mission to places we least expect it—to a crowd of strangers of different lands and tongues, to dry bones, to our weak hearts. Jesus promises his disciples that they will be accompanied by the Holy Spirit, and we give thanks for the Spirit’s presence in the lives of our high school graduates as they are prayed over, blessed, wrapped in blankets of our triumphant love, and sent into the next step in their faith journey. Guided by the truth, we join together in worship, and then disperse to share the fullness of Christ’s love with the world. Join us this Sunday as Deacon Bri preaches and reminds us that still today we are inspired by this good news!
