In September the Men’s Theology & Service Breakfast (a.k.a. Men’s Breakfast) kicked off their fall season of gatherings. Over 20 folks showed up for a delicious breakfast of two types of homemade French toast casserole by Chef Jay, sausage, biscuits, gravy, fresh fruit, orange juice and coffee.

Once the meal was served, Pastor Armin talked about Lutheran Theology with a little history of Martin Luther, the 95 Theses and invited participants to share about their involvement in the Lutheran Church whether they got started at birth, were invited in by their spouse or just joined last month.

After our nutritional and spiritual fill we headed off to tackle some projects around TLLC. Our service projects this month included cleaning light fixtures in the elevator and mounting hanging brackets for liturgical arts banners.
Paul (regular attender) writes of the group…
The Men’s Theology and Service gatherings at Triumphant Love Lutheran Church offer a meaningful rhythm of connection, reflection, and action. Once a month, men of the congregation come together for breakfast and conversation, hear a message from Pastor Armin, and then roll up their sleeves for service projects around the church. This shared experience fosters deeper relationships beyond Sunday morning greetings, creating a space where camaraderie grows through both spiritual dialogue and hands-on teamwork. The bonds formed strengthen the church community, building a cohort of men united by purpose, service, and faith.
Gary (first-time attendee) had this to say…
As a new attendee to the breakfast, I found the group very welcoming. I already know at least half of the folks who attended which made it easier to be there for the first time. The meeting starts with a prayer led by Pastor Armin, then a quick trip through the breakfast line. The food was surprisingly good and accompanied by juice and coffee. The setting is very informal. After enjoying the excellent breakfast and conversation, Pastor Armin led a short theological discussion, this one about Martin Luther and his objectives (trying to reform the Catholic church, not start one of his own). Good information. Last, for those of us who could stay longer, there were easy tasks that we could share in to get the Fellowship Hall back as we found it. Plus a couple of maintenance tasks that Geoff explained. All in all, it was a great experience and I’ll certainly be back again.
If you’d like to join the Men’s Breakfast group, contact info@tllc.org or just show up (4th Thursdays monthly @ 9am). We always have plenty of food!
