Advent 2025
Begins November 30
In the busyness of the holidays, it is easy to skip ahead to Christmas and find ourselves ill-prepared to receive Christ when he comes. Our Advent theme – Prepare the Way of the Lord – reminds us to set aside time on Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings to light the Advent candles and prepare ourselves for the birth of our Savior. Long ago the prophet Isaiah cried out to God’s people, inviting them to “make straight in the desert a highway for our God” (40:3). Generations later, John the Baptist would use those same words to prepare us for the birth of the Messiah. Each year we hear them once again as a call to prepare our hearts and minds to receive Christ when he comes.

Family Devotion

This interactive Advent activity allows you to “Prepare the Way of the Lord” and count each day until Christmas Eve as you make the journey to Bethlehem with us this season.
Daily:
Each step invites you to find ways to prepare your heart and mind to welcome the Christ child once again, making space for hope, peace, joy, and love.
Weekly:
Each Sunday and Wednesday will reveal special themes and stickers that serve as Way-Markers along our Advent journey.
Adult Devotion

In this Advent devotional, popular author, blogger, and editor Elizabeth Scalia offers daily reflections on both Scripture and selected works of renowned priest and author Henri J.M. Nouwen. With depth and clarity, this booklet prayerfully unpacks how God’s divine love is best revealed through Jesus’ coming into the world. By making space for hope, peace, joy, and love – true transformation of our hearts and lives – we prepare to welcome Christ again and again. While transformation and preparing the way for Christ may seem a daunting task, this devotion helps us make our way one step at a time, with each daily devotion, every Wednesday evening, and for four Sundays of Advent.
