It’s a big, busy Sunday this week at TLLC! We have Reformation Day and Confirmation for 2 classes of students as they Affirm their Baptisms. So as I’ve looked at the Luther Rose in our stained glass windows (pictured above) all those words have been rolling around in my head: Reformed… Confirmed… Affirmed. At the heart of each and all is God’s grace. By the grace of God the church, this congregation, and each of us is being continually reformed and made new. Through the grace of God and by the power of the Holy Spirit our young people will be confirmed as full members of our congregation, taking on the promises made for them at baptism. With the grace of God we are all affirmed as beloved children as we give thanks for our baptisms and witness the confirmands affirm this gift and call in their life. In the grace of God we celebrate!
The scriptures for this Communion Sunday are Psalm 46, Romans 3:19-28, and John 8:31-36. Songs for this Sunday are #504 “A Mighty Fortress” vs. 1 & 4, #513 “Listen, God Is Calling” and #729 “The Church of Christ in Every Age” vs. 1, 3 & 5. We give thanks to this week’s Worship Leaders, Production Crew, and Musicians!
