Are you looking for ways to connect with other church members this summer now that many of our regular ministries are on hiatus? Consider exploring the scenic trails at TLLC. Recently, members familiar with the trails coordinated hikes with members wanting to explore the trails but preferred having company.
These coordinated hikes have had great benefits, including learning some history about the development of the trails, the ongoing care of the trails, as well as current and future projects. There is so much beauty on the trails.
The level of care in maintaining the trails is evident with how clean the trails are, free of debris and trash. Hiking the trails in a group is a great way to connect with others, get some exercise, be close to nature, and develop a deeper appreciation of what the Care of Creation team does with this beautiful part of our church property.
Preplanning your hike can go a long way in making for an enjoyable experience for everyone. i.e. What to bring (water, walking stick, digital copy of trail map, cell phone), what to wear (long pants and sleeves, hat, good shoes), know the weather forecast for the hike, how long the hike will last.
The trails are open year-round to everyone, including the public. There is a trail map near Resurrection Garden to refer to, and a reminder to enter at your own risk.
Feel free to reach out to the Care of Creation team if you are interested in joining others for a hike, or other ways you can get involved with the trails. Enjoy!
