Water to Thrive Completion Report – Daela-Malga Program/Ethiopia – Oct. 2022

Water to Thrive Logo

Your support of W2T’s work is greatly appreciated! This email is to thank you for your sponsorship of a water project in Ethiopia during 2021/22 through Water to Thrive, and to provide your Donor Completion Report and pictures of your completed project.

Your project was part of a program of 45 water projects serving over 23,000 beneficiaries. The program was implemented by our partner South Central Ethiopian Synod of Mekane Yesus. We apologize for the length of time it has taken to provide this information. We faced numerous delays and challenges in the field because of the impact of Covid and travel restrictions within Ethiopia as well as our inability to travel from the US to Ethiopia to deliver the plaques. In spite of the obstacles, our partner preserved, and all the projects are complete and serving their community.

Below is your well name and location. You may review the program results by clicking on this link: Donor Completion Report

The pictures of your specific project are available by clicking HERE.

In addition to providing clean, safe water to hundreds of people, your well has significantly reduced the amount of time women and children spend collecting water. Women have gained the time they need to take better care of their families and engage in income-generating activities. Children now have more time to go to school and be absent less often as water-related diseases become a thing of the past.

Included in the cost of these projects is hygiene and sanitation training for the community. Training is also provided to a local water committee (half women) that are responsible for keeping the water project in good working order, as well as establishing a maintenance fund for on-going sustainability.

If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact me. Your continued support of our mission to bring clean water to those in need is greatly appreciated. We are grateful to have you as a partner as we commit to bring clean water to those who so desperately need it.
