This week’s Good News Network story is brought to you from the other side of the world! Andrew Wells grew up in TLLC and was active in youth activities. He is now employed as an officer in the Merchant Marine.
Andrew writes, “I have a great phone plan so I get service all throughout the world. This allows me to listen to TLLC’s sermons in any country. And with wifi on the ship I can listen literally anywhere in the world even out in the middle of the ocean! In addition to tuning in for Worship Where You are Are, I also recently watched a video of my friend Cecie’s wedding while in Egypt.
Mom and TLLC staff member Tracy says, “Andrew is very quick to let me know when I’m late getting the newsletters out. At least I know he looks forward to news from home and is keeping up with what’s going on when he’s away for months at a time!” Dad and TLLC AV volunteer Thomas says, “We enjoy using the shipfinder app to keep up with Andrew’s location when at sea.” The coronavirus pandemic has been making it difficult for crews on merchant ships to return home. Some have been at sea for more than six months.
At the same time, crews hoping to resume work have been struggling to get to their ships. This week we invite you to pray for Andrew, for mariners, and for all those who serve our country around the world during this time: Almighty God, we commend to your gracious care and keeping all those who serve our country at home and abroad. Defend them day by day with your heavenly grace; strengthen them in their trials and temptations; give them courage to face the perils that surround them; and grant them a sense of your abiding presence wherever they may be; through Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord. Amen.
