Jesus begins his public ministry by calling fishermen to leave their nets and follow him. Listening to God, trusting with our hearts, and following Jesus aren’t always easy, but these disciples left their fishing nets and followed Jesus right away. They left their jobs and their daily routines, deciding to follow Jesus. How did they make such a remarkable move? Perhaps because in Jesus, they sense the good news he announces: the kingdom of God has come near. All of us, who have walked in darkness, have also seen a great light and are called to follow him. Light dawns for us each Sunday as we gather around the word, the font, and the table. We are then sent to share the good news of this light so that others may be “caught” in the net of God’s grace and mercy. As we look back on 2025 and our ministry together as Triumphant Love, we are reminded of all the ways we have glimpsed light in the darkness, and as we look ahead to 2026, we are called once again to “catch” others with Christ’s light!
