My name is Lisa Thomas. My family and I have been TLLC members for almost six years and I have been on staff almost three!
I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis 19 years ago. In that time, I have gone from walking on my own, to using a cane, to using a walker, to using a wheelchair.
My family and I love Triumphant Love! We love the people, the programming, and the true feeling of community. Working here is amazing, too. My co-workers are second to none. Unfortunately, the physical space of Triumphant Love has not always been very easy for me to navigate while using my required devices (walker, then wheelchair)
In the past year, the staff and Council have put in a great deal of effort toward making our building more accommodating! Several months ago, one of the front doors was made more accessible with the addition of an electric push bar and a remote control for opening/closing.
A patio has been built overlooking the Outdoor Worship Space with a ramp to access it. Last week, for the first time in the almost 6 years we’ve been attending here, I was able to attend, see, hear, and participate in Wednesday Night Worship!
In the past few weeks, push buttons have been added to the bathrooms in the hallway by the interior stairwell, making them accessible for everybody!
To say I am THRILLED by these changes and improvements is an extreme understatement! I am now able to navigate more spaces with ease and I feel like I belong here so much more! I am also excited at how much more we can accommodate other visitors and members. I look forward to seeing and experiencing future additions as well.
