God’s work, our hands; working together. Building a future, repairing the world. On the 25th anniversary of the ELCA in 2013, church leaders decided (and I would say rightly so) that the best way to celebrate was not to simply give ourselves a party or a pat on the back but rather to serve our neighbor. That year, “God’s Work. Our Hands.” Sunday began, and it has become a yearly tradition for the thousands of congregations across the ELCA, including Triumphant Love. Join us in serving this Sunday! As we join back together in our new and improved Sanctuary, we give thanks for the hands that have worked so hard in our process to Rebuild + Return + Restore! Together we hear God’s call to use our hands to do work in the world. Whether your hands are folded in prayer, reading a book to a child, stocking groceries at a food pantry, or writing an advocacy letter, God is at work through YOUR hands, so let’s serve today!
The scriptures for this Sunday are Psalm 104:24-30, 1 Corinthians 12:12-27, and Mark 8:27-35. Songs for this Sunday are “God’s Work Our Hands” vs. 1, 2 & 4, “They’ll Know We Are Christians” and “Love the Lord”. We give thanks to this week’s Worship Leaders, Production Crew, and Musicians!
