Mary H. and Stephanie M. from the TLLC Care of Creation Team Ministry took the TLLC Child Development Center Pre K “Penguin” class on a nature hike.
The morning began in the classroom with a reading of the book A Tree is Nice.
On the hike the children learned about the importance of trees, who live in the trees (finding a bird’s nest), and live ON the trees like mushrooms. They learned the big word decomposition and what that means.
Even making a surprise discovery of the Texas Ironclad Beetle.
A variety of tree seeds were discussed and planted.
There was a moment to be still and just listen while sitting amongst the trees.
