Jesus’ parable about two sons reveals surprises in the reign of God – one says he will do what the father asks but doesn’t and the other says he won’t but actually does. In Philippians, we hear the ancient Christ Hymn as Paul urges us to look to Christ as a model of humility and service, putting the interests of others above our own. Fed by the broken bread and shared cup, we are nourished to do God’s work with our hands for the sake of our needy world.
